New Alliance Black Belts

After a spectacular showing at the 2008 Pan, Alliance Team leader Romero "Jacare" Cavalcanti promoted 4 of his top students to Black Belt rank. On a nice cerimony this past Saturday  "Jacare" advanced Jeff Malaseki, Mark Van Schuyver, Ed Kenedy and Casey Baynes to the covetd belt. All of the newly promoted have been training with Romero for over 10 years and are well deserving of the new status. 

Now "Jacare" has promoted a total of 8 American Black Belts since moving to the US, these join the countless others he has promoted over the years.  Congratulations to all

Alliance Team had a strong showing in the 2008 Pan winning the overall title over Gracie Barra and Brasa. Alliance leader Romero "Jacare" had nothing but praise for his team: "This was  a historic tournament with over 2000 competitors, we won the adult division for the first time ever. In the masters and seniors we had double the points of the second place team.  This is the result of a great effort not only by me but also from other Alliance instructors such as Cobrinha, Fabio Gurgel, Clemente, Garcia, Franjinha, Gigi, Paulo Sergio Santos, Molher, Sucuri and others along with the entire team of fighhters and students. After such great win there is only one thing to say  Ah! Uh!Uh! Uh E Alliance"

Congratulations to Alliance and all other teams along with organizers, fighters and everyone in BJJ, the 2008 Pan was the bomb! .

Women's Self Defense in Charlotte: by News 14 Carolina web staff

Self-defense experts say the worst part of an attack situation is the feeling of helplessness. With that in mind, nearly two-dozen women took a class Saturday morning at Alliance Jujitsu of Charlotte on learning to defend themselves.

Team Alliance wins NC State BJJ Championships

 The event was held in Monroe NC on Nov. 11. Team Hurst, Fight to Win, Team Roc and various other Fighters show casing their talent. The Competition was tougher than ever. Big congrats to all the fighters!!! and to the always competitive Ian McPherson for his Win in the PRO DIVISION!!

Alliance Team wins NAGA Title in Georgia

The Alliance Team led by Romero "Jacaré" Cavalcanti, took top honors claiming their 8^th consecutive Team victory at the NAGA Georgia event this past weekend. 

Alliance #1 at the Carolina Golden Cup

Team Alliance wins Both the  GI and NO GI Team Trophy at the Carolina Golden Cup held in Matthews, N.C. on May 19th The event showcased some of the areas finest. Team Hurst, Team ROC/Royce, Relson Gracie Team, Team Revolution and Team Alliance  battled it out for the prestigious Carolina Golden Cup Team Trophy.

Ian McPherson Wins Pro Division

The Hayastan Grappling Challenge Pro Divisions was stacked with all the first place winners of all divisions. Making it one of the most exiciting and High caliber Pro Divisions ever! Ian McPherson Once again with his hand held High with the $500 Cash Prize and the Championship Belt!! Congrats Champ!!
